COUMARIN 540H - Introduction
Coumarin is an oxygen-containing heterocyclic compound with the chemical formula C15H15NO2. It has two isomers: 1-coumarin and 2-coumarin, also known as oxycoumarin and coumarin, respectively. Among them, 6H coumarin is a solid, white crystalline substance with a special aromatic odor.
Properties of 6H coumarin:
-Solubility: Easily soluble in ethanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and benzene, but less soluble in water.
-Melting point: Approximately 128.0 to 132.0 °C.
-Stability: Stable under conventional conditions.
The use of 6H coumarin:
-Spices: 6H coumarin can be used as a fragrance in chewing gum, candy, beverages, cosmetics, etc., giving it a unique aroma.
-Medication: 6H coumarin has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties and is used as a raw material for drugs, such as in the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, anticoagulation, etc.

Preparation method of 6H coumarin:
6H coumarin can be obtained through sulfuric acid catalyzed epoxidation of benzocyclohex-1,2-dione.
